    MY RAMBLING ANALYSIS OF THE FASHION INDUSTRY. KIND OF. HONESTLY, I’M NOT SURE. I WROTE THIS AT 3 AM.

    It’s been just under a month since I started studying fashion law. In so many words, it’s been eye-opening. I read up to 400 pages a week. I spend hours each day studying until my eyes can no longer stand to stay open.

    This past month was my first time being in NYC for Fashion Week and being able to attend events. I purposely avoided them. I couldn’t do it.

    In this past month, I’ve learned so much. I’ve studied the superficial parts of the fashion industry alongside the selfless parts. For some reason, I find myself obsessing over both.

    SUSTAINABLE FASHION IS BORING.

    Every sustainable blogger has the same aesthetic. The same exact Instagram pictures. The same color scheme. Honestly, I’m sick of it. I’m tired of seeing the same things:

    • Tie dye.
    • Palazzo pants.
    • Plain t-shirts.
    • Oversized linen sets.
    • Dresses the size of bedsheets. (Oh. but they have pockets!)

    Nothing about my style is reflected by that list. Most days, I’m wearing a tee, jeans and sneakers. On the days I dress a bit more feminine, I like to wear a piece that you wouldn’t see on other people–something asymmetric maybe.
