“Create the things you wish existed.”
I’m Autumn, a Howard University and Fordham Law alumna. During my undergraduate career I studied journalism and graphic design; in grad school I studied fashion law. I’d say that’s a pretty interesting combo.
In 2015, I discovered a lifestyle that perfectly reflected my beliefs: minimalism. As I further research the lifestyle, I’ve noticed the lack of women of color who also practice minimalism. I felt drawn to it because I’ve never liked having a lot of stuff. At this exact moment, I realized which topic threads & such would cover most. I’m passionate about sustainability and ethical fashion but.. Everyone is saying the same thing and nothing is new. Something has to change.
Growing up, I was always the kid who stood in the corner and didn’t speak, ever. It seems like I have a lot more to say nowadays.
threads & such is not a simple OOTD blog—it explores all aspects and angles of fashion. You will definitely catch me ranting about luxury, ethics, and sustainability. (My thesis revolves around those three topics. If it ever gets finished, I’ll link it here. Update: It got finished, you know, since I had to graduate. I’m debating if I want to publish it.) Most of my posts definitely consist of anti-fast fashion rants, though.
