As of now, I’m a broke college student who likes nice things. I don’t shoplift, so I prefer to look at expensive clothes instead. These are some of the things I plan to own in the upcoming years.

JULY FAVORITES
Yes, I know, August is almost over. Life comes at you fast.
After finally becoming employed in June, I went a little crazy and splurged on myself in July (don’t worry, I saved most of my checks!)
I wanted to go back to when I used to frequently journal, and of course I wanted something cute. I use my journal for ideas, thoughts, plans–everything. Books-A-Million, $6.97
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup
I got my skin Matched at Sephora in May, and this was one of the matches for my skin tone. I instantly fell in love with this formula after trying out the sample. It almost looks exactly like my skin, and doesn’t feel heavy at all. It starts off sort of semi-matte and fades to a dewy finish as the day goes on. I’m extremely oily, so I’m still on the search for a good primer and setting powder to keep this foundation long-lasting. Other than that, I’m obsessed! Sephora, $40
Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Waterproof Eyeliner
I decided to head back to my middle school roots and retry pen liner. After watching Tara Efobi’s video recommending the liner, I said why not and splurged. To my benefit, Sephora had a set that came with the pen, a crayon liner, and mini mascara. I’m a fiend for Sephora’s sets; they’re great deals and come with great products. This liner is bomb. It lasts on my extremely oily lids, and glides on with ease. 10/10 do recommend. Sephora, (set) $32, (pen) $30
Missguided Elastic Crossover Strap Sandals
I’ve been on the hunt for some Birkenstock-esque sandals, for about a third of the price. I found these on Missguided for the low and knew I had to get them. They. Are. Perfect. They’re extremely comfortable, and I feel like they’ll last me a while for the price. They only drawback is that they’re extremely wide, but that’s due to my extremely long and narrow feet. Missguided, $14
I spotted this laptop skin months ago but couldn’t bring myself to buy it. Finally, I forced myself to get it because I was so in love with it and I’m so happy I did! It was a breeze to put on, and it’s great quality. It hasn’t budged, and it’s been on my laptop for almost two months. It looks absolutely gorgeous and gives my laptop such a posh feel. UNIQFIND, $24.99
Boohoo Sophia Contrast Rib Cap Sleeve Bodycon Dress
This. Dress. Lemme tell y’all. This dress looks so good on me. I might have to get the black and red ones as well. It’s so comfortable and cute. I could wear it everyday if I was trifling. Nonetheless, it was definitely worth the measly $14 I paid for it! Boohoo, $14.

CULTURAL MADNESS X YOUTH IN REVOLT FASHION SHOW
On August 2nd, I attended the Cultural Madness F/W ’15 show hosted by CSVRU and Youth in Revolt. All of the collections were created by Detroit locals with crazy amounts of talent. To top it all off, all of the designers & the hosts were youth.
The Electric Studio was a perfect venue. The vibes of the runway reminded me of two of Acne Studios’ collections, their Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection (left) and their Resort 2016 collection (right). The venue definitely reminded me of the Resort 2016 collection.
Designers presented BEAUTIFULLY constructed outfits. It was obvious that long hours + hard work went into both the show and collections to produce quality results. Although all of the designers produced varying collections, the show still had cohesion and consistence.
I truly enjoyed the show. It was a great example of how young, talented kids can put on a quality event. It was definitely a great representation of the talent that is hidden within Detroit.
Thanks for visiting threads & such!
